Job Title: Retail/Administrative Clerk
Summary: This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly creative environment of a small retail boutique & learning center while sharpening your skills as an administrative assistant. This job will begin part time with the potential to grow full time after 3 month review. You will be working as an independent contractor.
Responsibilities:
- Selling apparel & accessory products both in-house brands as well as local vendor brands.
- Day-to-day operations/procedures of the boutique & learning center (to included but not limited to): answering inquiries on the phone, operating the register per company procedures, greeting the customers/clients, taking alterations, embroidery & custom apparel orders; scheduling learning center classes for students & instructors.
- Window Dressing and planning of displays in the boutique to increase sales.
- Creating & scheduling the company newsletter from various files and content.
- Researching & creating fashion & sewing project ideas for the company's new sewing club.
- Scanning various paperwork & other administrative functions.
- Organizing orders inbound and picked up internally & externally per company procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or Equivalent.
- The ideal Candidate will have a high level of organizational skills for filing, sorting, organizing.
- Candidate must be able to follow both written & verbal instructions and can work independently.
- Candidate must be reliable and have clear communication skills.
- Some Retail experience is preferred (but not required; we will train on marketing & retail procedures on site)
- Some experience in alterations, garment construction & embroidery is preferred (but not required; we will train on this as well)
Pay Range: $10-$20 per hour (Based on experience)

Job Title: The Sewing Machine Technician
Summary: A local, family owned, sewing store in two locations (North Austin & Pflugerville) is seeking a Full-Time Sewing Machine Technician. Your schedule will be 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. Some Saturdays will be required. All employees are subject to a 90-day probationary period. Continuing education & on the job training provided by Brother and Janome manufactories. All employees will receive a store discount as part of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct sewing machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and performing preventive maintenance on sewing, embroidery & overlock/serger machines.
- Must have experience with Janome, Juki, & Brother brands.
- Must know sewing machine theory to identify, isolate, and repair mechanical, computerized, rotary, sewing, embroidery & overlock/serger machines.
- Must be able to diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust equipment.
- Use/provide personal hand and power tools and material handling equipment.
- Be able to communicate the proper setup and operation of machines.
- Comply with safety rules and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
- Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules. Responsible for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Performs other related duties as required and or as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or Equivalent.
- Three years’ experience is required.
- The ideal candidate will have Certification and is highly recommend, but not required.
- Must read, write and understand Basic English.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
- The ideal candidate will be skilled at pay attention to detail.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function for this position.
- Candidate must be able to work in a team.
- Must be authorized to work in the USA.

Job Title: Contract Sewer
Summary: If you like to sew, then this is the job for you! You will be sewing a wide range of products for our clients from private label designers to custom apparel & alterations. This job will begin part time with the potential to grow full time after 3 month review. You will be working as an independent contractor.
Responsibilities:
- Stitching on industrial sewing machines such as straight stitch, overlock & Coverstitch.
- Stitching various seam styles such as linings, hems & felled seams.
- Following patterns, sewing instructions & verbal instructions.
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or Equivalent.
- Candidate has a working knowledge of functions on industrial sewing machines.
- Candidate can install zippers, buttonholes, buttons, linings, hems & special seams.
- The ideal Candidate will understand garment construction or have a working knowledge.
- Candidate must be able to follow both written patterns & verbal instructions and can work independently.
- Candidate must be reliable.
Pay Range: $10-$20 per hour (Based on experience)
